Fan Art and More
It wasnt mine originally but if I am allowed to play with it too...
Copyright laws often restrict or prohibit the making of any derivitative works for distribution or sale. Many corporations are very strict in protecting their intellectual property and do not allow fan artists to use their IP. Sometimes others will allow fan artists limited or even rather open use of their IP to fulfil the fanbases desire for merchandise among themselves.
Part of my online crafting business started from the making of fan art plushies from my favorite game. I even got to license one of my hat patterns to a larger company that handles their official merchandise production.
I enjoy being able to do commission work for other fans that can not make their own fan art. I like making many varieties and color combinations to make them unique to the requestor.
I love being able to take original ideas and bring them to life. One of my favorites to do was a two foot tall plushie of a mascot for a company.
I do not sell my patterns but will often to be happy to do a custom creation.
One of my yearly favorites for commission work is my laser cut and engraved ornaments for my local HOA's Halloween pumpkin and costume contests.
